Overgate would like to thank the public for the fantastic response to our recent Bedroom Appeal in partnership with Help for Kids charity.

The aim of the appeal was to ensure every kid in Dundee has a bed and the fundraising initiative in the centre, which was anchored on an eye-catching bedroom set on the mall floor, ran for the month of August and saw an influx of donations from generous Overgate customers.

A total of 717 essential bedroom items with an estimated value of £5,000 were donated including 84 duvets, 127 duvet covers, 55 pillows, 206 pillow covers, 43 throws, 12 mattress protectors, 88 sheets and 37 cushions.

Speaking about the campaign Morag Dennis, Operations Manager of Overgate said;

“Overgate would like to thank everyone who supported the Bedroom Appeal.

“We have been blown away by the generosity of the public and to have 717 essential items donated is just wonderful.

“The work undertaken by Help for Kids contributes greatly to the local community and these donations will be much appreciated by those most in need.”

Hannah Kemlo, Charity Co-ordinator of Help for Kids added;

“We are delighted with the response we have received for our children’s bedroom appeal.

“The amount of items donated is just amazing and will help us to support so many local families and their children.

“A special thanks to everyone who donated, to Morag Dennis for all of her support and to the Overgate retailers who did a collection on our behalf throughout the month.”
