In celebration of World Vegan Month at Overgate, we want to take a moment to recognise how far the vegan movement has come, and to highlight some of our favourite vegan products from retailers within the centre.
Also, in case you hadn’t heard, the date for Dundee’s Vegan Festival has been announced for 2020, after taking a year out, next years event will take place at Bonar Hall on April 11!
From seasonal goodies such as the Vegan Mince Tart or Iced Slice (also gluten free) to a warm bowl of Tomato & Basil Soup, Red Thai Curry Pot or Festive Veggies under Vests Sandwich, Costa is the perfect lunchtime spot. Not to forget the delicious Chocolate, Caramel & Hazelnut Cookie accompanied by a Spiced Cappuccino with your choice of coconut, almond or soya milk for that ultimate taste of winter.

Frankie & Benny’s plant-based options come in the shape of many of their much-loved signature dishes! Start the day right and tuck in to a Vegan Fry Up, or get started with a selection of Dough Balls, Vegan Cheesy Garlic Bread or Vegan Loaded Skins, followed by a Viva la Vegan ¼ pounder, Kansas City BBQ Pizza or Not Dog, and finish it off with a No-Cheesecake or Lotus Biscoff Cheesecake. Refuel with fresh fruit and veg goodness at Fuel Juice Bars with a selection of Super Juices. Get your 5-a-day fruit fix in one go with a choice of flavours from Berry Good, Waterfall, Detox Juice or Rocket Fuel. Don’t forget you can also double your fruit for an extra 50p.
The first thing that comes to mind is the famous Greggs Vegan Sausage Roll, and until we see the full list of vegan versions of all their bestselling products, we have listed a few options that are currently available in store now; Mexican Bean Wrap, Belgian Bun, White Rocky Road/Snowy Road, Sweet Mince Pies, Southern Fried Potato Wedges, Warm Winter Vegetable Soup, all Coffees with Soya Milk.
For vegan treats you don’t have to eat, visit Lush! A no fuss vegan skincare and pampering routine is now easier than you thought, and you may already be using vegan products without even realising. For a fresh cleanser, try Let the Good Times Roll. This gentle yet scrubby cleanser will soothe and soften your skin, giving it a natural glow and leaving behind a buttery popcorn fragrance. If more of a pick me up is required, Cup O’ Coffee will perk your skin up.

Last but by no means least, we have the Vegan Sub and Salad courtesy of Subway. This lunch option features a patty bursting with vibrant flavours of tasty red pepper, spicy chilli, garlic and red onion. Who knows, we may even get to try the vegan version of its popular Meatball Marinara sub one day in the not too distant future!
