NEXT, one of our resident retailers here at Overgate, has partnered with Olympian Denise Lewis OBE for a new activewear range for Spring 2021.
Designed for busy lifestyles and women on the go, the debut edit features performance clothing essentials such as leggings, sports bras and breathable tops – all of which are available in sizes 6 to 22 or XS to XXL.
A one-stop-shop for all your activewear needs
The debut Denise Lewis Edit is made up of the Olympian’s favourite pieces from the Next Active range. They have all been tested and approved by Denise herself and are suitable for a wide range of different workouts, whether you’re heading out for a run or staying in to practise yoga or Pilates.
Merging functional with flattering, the collection has everything you could possibly need from activewear – lightweight, breathable fabrics in plain and printed designs keep you cool (and stylish!) while inner waistbands and side pockets help keep your phone and keys secure if you’re heading out for a run.
The range features sweat-wicking squat-proof leggings (offering ample manoeuvrability during workouts) as well as key athleisure staples including super soft sweaters and heavier weight hoodies. These comfortable wardrobe basics are great for both working out and working from home.
“I am seriously impressed with Next’s range of activewear – I’ve been road-testing these pieces for months now. From squat-proof leggings (which don’t fall down!) to sports bras fit for various workout types – there’s something for every shape and size.” – Denise Lewis
Comfortable, confidence-boosting sportswear for busy women
The Denise Lewis Edit is versatile and easy to throw on at a moment’s notice. Engineered for “the gym of life”, it caters for busy women and mums on the go who don’t always have time to fit workouts into their schedules – something that’s even more of a challenge when lockdown and home schooling are thrown into the mix.
As a mother of four herself, Denise finds that activewear keeps her looking and feeling good whilst juggling parental responsibilities. She can go from running errands to working out without a wardrobe change.
“What I love about activewear is that it’s easy. It doesn’t matter what time of the day I put it on. It’s simple. I can go to the gym, I can pick up the kids from school. It’s just comfortable and I feel good in it.”
Aside from working out and keeping physically in shape, Denise recognises that maintaining a positive mindset and being kind to herself are key to staying mentally fit in challenging times. She acknowledges that as a parent, it’s not possible to do it all. Exercising can often take a backseat when up against busy schedules and engagements, but the aim is to always be kind to yourself.
“I’m not even sure how I juggle being a mum of four kids. You’ve just gotta have a positive mindset and be really clear with what you want to get out of the day but know that you can’t fit everything in. Don’t beat yourself up!”
