Each month, we will select a ‘Feature Store’ from our fantastic choice of retailers that are in the mall.

Our aim is to share the stores latest offers with you along with a bit of history about the store. This month we have selected New Look.

The first ever new look store opened in Taunton in 1969. Since then, the company has grown to become a leading fast fashion brand and has over 760 stores worldwide. New look is one of the largest stores in Overgate with departments covering womenswear, menswear, teens, accessories, footwear, maternity wear, plus size and the very exciting Label Lounge. With hot new stock arriving every week you will be sure to find something that you will love.

The latest ladies trends you will find in store on level one include New Look’s own trends Amazonian and Magical Marrakech along with the mainline 70s trend. The Amazonian trend is influenced by military and utility styling. It is classic khaki but with a sense of adventure. Garments feature bold colours and rainforest inspired prints with embellishments and beading as a finishing touch. Magical Marrakech explores exotic patterns inspired by the traditional tile prints of Morocco. Key pieces include relaxed fit trousers, printed jumpsuits and kimonos, perfect for a daytime look that is pretty and laidback. If you prefer to step back in time this season with the retro 70s trend, you can unleash your free spirit with boho details like crochet and fringing, loose layering and lots of denim. Key pieces include the a-line mini skirt, wide leg floral trousers, flares and of course everything suede. Sub sections in womenswear include maternity, plus size and petite ranges so everyone can get the perfect fit.

The latest menswear trends you will find in store on level two include New Look’s own trend The Outsider alongside White Noise and of course 70s influence. The Outsider is driven by an electric vintage feel and built around worn, laundered pieces. Relaxed layering, ripped knee jeans, faded checks and a heavy clash of prints and texture are key. From floral to Aztec and denim through to suede there is something for everyone in this trend. White Noise features sportswear with bomber jackets driving the trend. Tonal looks mean greys, black and white are on trend and mixing fitted and relaxed pieces is an easy way to master this trend. If you are more in to the 70s look like season, New Look are all about colourful prints and distressed denim in the menswear department.

In the Teens section on level two, it’s all about festival fashion. Get ready for your summer festivals with crochet trim t-shirts, dungarees, Aztec prints and our new favourite, the backpack. There are also lots of fantastic pieces in the holiday shop that will keep you on trend whether you are enjoying the sunshine at home or abroad.

As well as these fabulous trends, on level one you will find a large section of the store dedicated to ladies denim and on level two you will find the amazing label lounge, shoe department, accessories, nightwear and lingerie. You will definitely be spoilt for choice. New look is a fashion favourite among many in the mall and they are pleased to offer a 10% discount all year round to students with a valid student card. If there is something you have seen in store but it has sold out in your size before you managed to snap it up, check out www.newlook.com and take advantage of their click & collect service which is free on orders over £19.99.
