Future famous Dundonians are helping to highlight achievements of their illustrious forebears to mark the first anniversary of the opening of Discovery Walk Dundee.

Children at the city’s Blackness Primary School have designed graphics for an exclusive themed treasure hunt in Dundee’s Overgate Shopping Centre.

Fourteen portraits of famous Dundonians, each decorated with a frame designed by the children, are hidden within shop windows around the Centre.

Finding them all wins entry into a prize-draw for £50 of Overgate gift vouchers.

Discovery Walk was launched on 6 April last year with the unveiling of nine plaques honouring the achievements of engineers, writers, artists, social reformers and philanthropists of the past who either came from or had a strong connection to Dundee.

The plaques are set into the pavements around Slessor Gardens at the heart of Dundee's £1 billion Waterfront Redevelopment.

A crowdfunding campaign was launched in late 2016, selling a limited edition of 2,000 special commemorative badges to fund the addition of five further plaques to the Walk.

The Overgate Treasure Hunt runs from today (5 April) until Friday 21 April.  Entry forms are available from the Customer Services Desk on Level 1 within Overgate.
