Lock- in Loving

Photo booths, caricatures, balloonists and hula honeys. It has to be the famous Overgate Student Night!

As the evening drew closer and the crowds began to gather, the Overgate elite battened down the hatches in preparation for possi-bly one of the largest student nights the centre has ever seen.

A dance troupe welcomed the excited crowd and entertained them while they waited patiently to enter.

Almost 8,000 students flocked into the mall to indulge their retail sweet tooth with lines stretching throughout the city centre.

Over 40 stores participated in order to make the student night one to remember. Topshop/Topman, Office, H&M, River Island, Superdry and Debenhams were just a few among the many stores offering great savings and one time deals (20-50% off) to the stu-dent night attendees. In on the action were also local drinks con-noisseurs The Underground, South Tay Superstore and Jam Jar who were offering free samples of their famed drinks.

Goodie bags, discounts, candy floss, popcorn and giveaways to boot there was more than enough for students to get their shop-ping and sugar fix.

Filling the centre were performers on stunts, hula hoopers, balloon-ists, photo booths, DJs, models and live prize draws. These spec-tacles generated an infectious and euphoric atmosphere around the centre like no other.

The spotlight however was firmly fixed on the fabulous prizes up for grabs. Primark were offering the chance to win up to £150 worth of gift cards, Topshop were giving away £100 and New Look and H&M were offering £50 for both male and female giveaways. Paint ball kings Battlefield Live were also gearing up for a mass paint ball give away for a party of ten people up to the value of £200!

Lines were snaking round shops with students grabbing their must haves at a discounted price. Adding to the excitement were the goodie bags available in stores. Superdry offered treats to anyone who spent over £75 with Debenhams giving a free designer bag to those who purchased an item in store.

The night was a success with a sea of people swarming the upper and lower mall trying out every stall and visiting every store.

Finishing up at 9pm, the students left both content and with change.

Once again, Overgate has produced a high class student night with buzzing entertainment, top discounts and happy patrons.
